Our shared hosting architecture has been designed to fit each service you could require (Web, database, mail, DNS, ...) on multiple physical servers. Backups of your datas are made everyday on different physical sites (in Paris and London).
The default machine we use for the configuration of the cluster is an Apple Xserve (nehalem year 2009) running Mac OS X Server.
Therefore, requests sent to our shared hosting services are shared between all available servers. This allows us to provide optimal performances and face heavy charges when needed without any difficulty.
Moreover, the load-balancing service that drives the cluster (ServerIron XL) is able to stop sending requests to one specific machine if this machine suddenly faces a problem and doesn't work properly anymore. That way, Aqua Ray's engineering team is able to repair the broken server and fix the problem while the service itself continues to work properly.
