Located at the limit of London City quarter, the servers managed directly by Aqua Ray's team are stored inside an exceptional data-center in terms of security and quality of its environment.
For Aqua Ray, it is important to host the servers in a secured environment with a top notch installations in order to ensure a continuous service. Interxion data-center in London proposes a top-of-the-range technological infrastructure which answers all our requirements.
Physical security
The access to the site is protected, and very strict measurements are deployed. Any person wishing to penetrate in the buildings have to justify its identity. Only the people written on the access list are authorized to enter the data-center. Man trap makes it possible to block all the entries and/or exits. Once in the hall carrying out to the rooms servers, the authentification is done by using a magnetic badge. The security staff present on site 24h/24 supervises the interior and the outside of the data-center thanks to the CCTV monitoring (Closed Circuit Television).
Fire protection systems
Fire detection inside the data-center is based on two independent systems. The first is a pre-alarm LASER system (VESDA, Very Early Smoke Detection Alarm): the air is constantly processed by a highly sensitive LASER detector in order to locate any particle resulting from pre-combusting (underneath and above the floor). The system reacts before even any smoke is not visible with a human eye. The second detection system, more traditional, is ensured by ionic and optical heads, placed under the false floors and the ceilings. The data-center is built with fire retardant walls and a structure with guaranteed ceilings that are built to resist, in case of possible fires, during 2 hours. In order to extinguish any fire, an extinguishing gas system (FM200) drives out the oxygen of the room and choke the fire. Any risk of short-circuit is thus avoided.
Power security
230V AC and 400V AC, UPS, -48V DC with battery backup, and provides continual power. All Interxion Data Centers are backed up by N+1 diesel driven generators with 24 hours fuel storage.
Servers and networks equipment are thus protected from any electric cut.
Air-conditioning
A very important point: the ambient temperature and the hygroscopy of the servers room. Data-center is to the N+1 standards, which means that there are 2 times more air-conditioners than necessary to counter all the possibilities. For optimum performance of all equipment we maintain and continuously monitor a climate-controlled environment with an average room temperature of 22 ± 2 °C and a humidity level of 50 ± 10%. The environemental monitoring of the room servers allows an optimal machines environment.
